A selfless, ground breaking trendsetter, who was a pioneer in mentoring women and treating them respectfully, professionally, and equally before it became a "hot topic" or "trendy". Many of Herb's mentees received their own awards and honors, in part because of his guidance but also because of his willingness to let them shine in their own right.
